Advisor's Guide to Grieving Clients
Episode #28
In this week's episode I get to showoff an online education program I built several years ago, "The Advisor's Guide to Grieving Clients." I built this program as a self-paced tool for advisors and non-financial types. The idea was born and came to fruition as advisors continuously sought me out for my expertise in working with grieving clients. Grieving clients also encouraged me to teach their advisors how to work with them comfortably.
I had close friends who gave me a hard time for years after I graduated because I never formally used my elementary education degree. Well, now I can say I have used my degree to the fullest extent.
With a lot of help, time and energy, I designed a program in which I am really proud. The program has 10 lessons, stemming from understanding anyone's grieving style, grief triggers, how to speak to someone in grief, stages of grief, support services, family dynamics, timelines and many more tools and tips. Furthermore, the program is approved for continuing education credit for anyone who is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ .
I have also opened up a Facebook Group for anyone who has taken the course in order to create a tight-knit community of folks who want to help others in grief.
